Description
AYURVEDA ABHYANGA MASSAGE comes from the philosophy of life of ancient India. The word Ayurveda is derived from Sanskrit and means “Ayu” (duration of life) and “Veda” (truth or knowledge); and is translated as knowledge of lasting life or science of life. Ayurveda is the oldest known medical science in the world, influencing all other measurements. Firstly, it is based on three principles that make it unique: tradition, respect and spirituality. Secondly, it conceives of body, mind and spirit as a whole. It has a holistic vision of the being. Each being is unique and the treatment is personalised on the basis of their genetics or mahabhutas (five elements); the combination of these elements will give rise to the vital energies that make up each individual: vata, pitta and kappa. Ayurvedic treatments are usually relaxing, pleasant and enjoyable, with “no pain” predominating.
Abhyanga massage, or oil massage, is a rejuvenating and health-enhancing massage. It consists of anointing warm oil all over the body. In the massage, it is not only the application of the massage manoeuvres on the body (which help to stimulate the energy channels: no one, mark points and chakras) that is important, but also the effect of the oil, which nourishes and smoothes the tissues.
Our health depends as much on what we eat as on what we think and say.
WHAT AN AYURVEDA ABHYANGA MASSAGE SESSION IS LIKE:
Each session is unique and personalised based on your doshas or constitutional characteristics and environment. Depending on your characteristics we will use different oils, as well as the temperature of application. The function of oils is to hydrate and nourish the external and deep tissues of the skin. Due to their aqueous nature, they connect the outside with the inside. Also the pressures of the movements will be adapted to the needs of the person, acting on the marma points. Thus they help to balance the doshas, increase Agni (body fire), aid in detoxification and digestion of the body. In addition, they energise and generate vitality. Aromatherapy and assisted mobilisations will be added to help with joint lubrication, improving the functioning of tendons and ligaments. After the massage, it is recommended to keep the oil on the body until it has been absorbed, to benefit from and enhance the nourishing effects of the oil.
KEYWORD: NUTRITION – HEALTH – VITALITY.
